Pastor David Janney: Senior Pastor

Pam and I moved to Purcellville back in 1995. We instantly fell in love with Loudoun County and its people. God has blessed us with three wonderful children, Josh, Jon and Suzy – all three grew up in Purcellville and graduated from Loudoun Valley High School.

My passion is to lead others to abundant life in Christ. I discovered it when I was 31 years old. I’d like to tell you my story. You can hear it at Growth Track on Sunday evenings every month. I have degrees from Cairn University, Denver Seminary and Southeastern Seminary.

I love preaching and praying for others. I also enjoy running, all kinds of table games, and German Chocolate Cake! My life verse is Jeremiah 18:6 “As clay is in the potter’s hands, so are you in My hands.” When you visit PBC, be sure to stop by Guest Reception. I look forward to meeting you.

Pastor Cory Welch: Executive Pastor

My wife and I both grew up in Tyler, TX and attended Dallas Baptist University. Christ became my Lord and Savior at a Vacation Bible School in Chapel Hill, TX when I was 8 years old and He began to call me into ministry when I was 14. I earned a bachelors in Business Management from DBU and went on to receive my Masters of Divinity from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. I served at Crossroads Christian Church in Grand Prairie, TX from October 2003-October 2006 before I was called to PBC as the youth pastor in that same month. I officially transitioned into my current role in February 2012. My passion for ministry is to lead people to know Jesus as both Savior and Lord and to discover the purpose for which God created them. Natalie and I have been married since February 2008 and have 3 children.

I grew up in Wayneboro, PA an hour north of Purcellville and received Jesus as my Savior in Sunday School class at Grace Baptist Church at the age of 7. I received my bachelor degree in Economics and Business from Lafayette College in Easton, PA where I played football and wrestled. My Sales Representitive job moved me to Arlington TX, where I met my wife Shawn, who directs our Mother's Day Out program and preschool department. God blessed us with two wonderful children who are currently in college. I recevied my Masters in Theological Studies from Liberty University and my passion for minitstry is to see people believe the Bible.

Pastor Kevin Cole: Youth Pastor

After reading a short biography on Hudson Taylor in fourth grade I felt a call on my life to be a missionary.  My father asked a simple question that would change the direction of my life: “If you want to be a missionary, what are you doing now to be one?”  My eyes were open to the mission field in the hallways of my school, lunch table, and neighborhood.  At Liberty University I pursued a degree in Biology.  While at Liberty University I served on the YouthQuest team which visited Purcellville Baptist for two Disciple Now weekends.  The following two summers, I served as youth intern and was hired full-time in the spring of 2011.  My wife, Beth, and I married in August of 2011 and have excitedly welcomed our daughter, Nya, in 2015 and son, Eli, in 2017.

Taylor Hart: Worship Leader

I came to Christ at a young age. It’s easy to hear with jealousy the testimonies of others who came to Christ later in life, caught fire for God at the moment of salvation, and seemed to be changed in an instant, as if somehow by coming to Christ as a child I’d missed out on being molded and perfected by God. But, that’s not the case. All along, God has been shaping me, pruning me, and preparing me to be used by Him for His glory. He’s not done with me yet! I’ve been walking with God for most of my life, at times closer than others, and rest in His promise to work in me to both desire and carry out His good purpose for me. I sensed a call to full-time music ministry in high school, and God directed my steps to Liberty University to receive training. Eventually, God opened the door to vocational ministry at PBC. It has been far and away the best season of my life, and I can’t wait to see how the Lord continues to mold me and use me for His glory! The times I’ve felt the most satisfied and the closest to God have been in intimate times of worship with Him, where I have felt Him speak directly to the deepest needs of my heart and have responded in joyful gratitude for His love for me. I pray that these times would become part of my daily experience as I draw closer to Him, and that He would use me to lead others to experience Him in this way!
